WayV is a C-POP boy group formed by SM Entertainment. It has 6 members: Kun, Ten, Winwin, Xiaojun, Hendry and Yangyang.

Career

In 2016, SM Entertainment planned to form a boy group called NCT with several sub-units operating in different cities.

WayV is one of the sub-units in China. The label is managed by V, SM Entertainment’s Chinese sub-label.

The agency was declared a member of WayV in December 2018. They are Kun, Ten, WinWin, Lucas, XiaoJun, Hendery and YangYang.

All the members were part of a pre-festival training program called SM Rookies. Some of them participated in various activities with NCT, mainly in NCT U and NCT 2018.

Before they were known as WayV, the group was first called NCT China. Later the name was changed to NCT Vision. But the official name of the group is WayV or 威神V.

These Chinese characters can be translated into powerful gods. WayV is the English spelling of his name. It also serves as our vision acronym.

WayV debuted in January 2019 with the release of their digital single vision For the title track, they used the Chinese version of NCT 127’s song Regular.

The digital EP consisted of three tracks, all of which managed to enter the Billboard World Digital Songs Top Ten.

Following the success of their first release, WayV released several more EPs. Their second EP title Take over the moon He was a huge commercial success.

The album peaked at number 5 on the Village Albums Chart. He also had his first performance in Korea on MBC M’s show Champion.

The group released their debut studio album in June 2020. The title of the album is Wake up the world First teased through a mobile game.

Fans were challenged to find teaser images of the game. Upon release, the album peaked at number nine on the Billboard World Albums Chart and number three on the Village Albums Chart.

WayV stands for “We Your Vision”.
