Weki Meki is a K-pop girl group produced by Fantagio Entertainment. The group consists of 8 members: Suyeon, Eli, Yujong, Doyeon, Lua, Rina, Sei and Lucy.

Some of the members were part of I-Teen Girls, Fantagio’s rookie program to debut as a girl group.

The group name Waki Meki has 2 different meanings. The word “waki” means that they are already forming a group when they meet each other to open a new world.

Meanwhile, the word “Meki” means 8 girls who separate from each other.

Career

Weki Meki first debuted in 2017 with the release of their first EP titled Weme. The EP was released on August 8, 2017, with some lyrics credited to Yoojung.

This EP was also considered a success in 2017, selling 47.000 copies.

Six months later, the group released a second EP, luckyOn 21 February 2018. On October of the same year, the group was also released Kisses, kicks.

In 2019, they continued to release Lock end LOL In May and the digital single album, shiny shiny, In February 2020.

Following the release of Glitter glitterThe group released their third EP, hiding, In June 2020.
