Casey Owen Neistat is an American filmmaker and YouTube star.

Career

Casey Neistat first fell in love with filmmaking after editing a video of his son visiting the zoo in New York City.

When he returned to Connecticut, he maxed out a credit card and bought a computer. He spent all his free time making small films and began to get a voice.

In June 2001, he moved to New York City and became a film producer. He then became an artist’s studio manager, a friend of his brother.

Casey turned everything on him into movies with his first iPod. When his battery died, he posted a video online about the iPod’s dead battery policy and it went viral.

After that, he appeared on TV and got a video series project. He was also invited to the Gui da Biennale in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

In 2006, the filmmaker met Tom Scott, who ran a local TV channel, and asked him to make a video. They then sold the video to HBO and premiered in 2010.

Later, Casey started a YouTube channel and uploaded his existing works there. Since then it has been steadily gaining audiences.
