Alex Morgan is an American professional women’s soccer player. She was best known for helping her team win the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2015 and 2019.

Career

When she was young, Alex Morgan tried many sports and never focused on one. She did not focus on football until she was 14 years old.

When she was 14, she joined Cypress Elite and helped the club win the Coast Soccer League Under-16 Championship and finish third at Under-19 level.

She then attended Diamond Bar High School and was named a three-time All-League selection NSCAA All-American.

That same year, she scored a hat-trick against Rodez and helped Lyon reach the semi-finals of the French Cup.

After spending one season with Lyon, she returned to the Orlando Pride and extended her contract through the 2019 season, and missed the 2020 NSWL Challenge Cup due to her pregnancy and the suspension of the football tournament due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

She signed with Tottenham Hotspur in 2020 but was unable to play for the club until late 2020 as she regained her fitness after giving birth in mid-2020.

She ended her contract with Tottenham Hotspur and returned to Orlando Pride for the 2021 season. The following season she signed with San Diego Wave FC.

Alex Morgan is also often involved with her country’s team and made her debut for the under-20 team at the 2008 CONCACAF Women’s Under-20 Championship.

She was also part of the United States team at the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup which was held in Chile.
