Alicia Keys is an American singer, songwriter and actress. Her career in music took off after her release Song in A minor (2001) debut album to commercial success and critical acclaim.

She has since released eight other studio albums. Alicia has sold over 90 million records worldwide, cementing her status as one of the world’s best-selling music artists.

Alicia Keys developed a passion for music from an early age. She performed in her school production and took classical piano lessons.

Her career took off when music manager Jeff Robinson discovered her. He brought Alicia to sign with Columbia Records. She co-wrote the soundtrack for the film Men in Black.

However, she did go on record. She performed her first single on Oprah Winfrey’s show titled Fallin in 2001 and it reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

She also released her debut album Songs in A minor In the same year and sold 6 million copies worldwide.
